PRE-SERVICE

Service Prep

This should all be done before the production meeting starts

Put on comm headset & confirm correct channels for who you need to communicate with

Ensure any service props are clean and ready (i.e. podium)

Ensure you know where the service props are being placed on stage

Get speaker basket from media closet and place next to you at front row

Check that basket is stocked with: water bottles, mints, sanitizing wipes, pens, any materials listed in the OOS that the speaker might use (i.e. Giving Envelope, Believe Card, etc.)

Get all mics needed for the service: headset mic, speaker mic, vox 6)

Check battery levels on mics

Power off and return mics to speaker basket when finished

Mic Check

Use your comm headset to communicate with service director on status of BOH & FOH during mic check

Check mics with Service Director, FOH & BOH after worship rehearsal concludes

speak clearly and read worship lyrics for check

speak at a "normal" volume and a "loud" volume

Production Meeting

this is your checklist to be sure you are prepared for any given service

Make sure you have a clear understanding of service flow & transitions

Understand what all transitions during service look like

Understand what emcees are expected to say and how they transition in and out of their moment

Confirm who is serving in the MD role and when they are giving "the nod" to cue speakers & emcees coming on stage

Service Prep

After Production Meeting

Connect with speaker / emcees and make sure they are aware of what to say during their moment & how to transition in and out of their moment (ex. You will be opening the service; pray to close and introduce the main speaker)

Provide emcees with script if there's one provided

Ensure that back hallway lights are turned off and curtain is closed fully

SERVICE TIME

During Service

Sit accessible to pastor/speaker on front row

When someone is using the headset mic, put headset mic cable & pack on them before each service starts

Mic should be angled toward the speaker’s mouth and be about an inch from the speaker’s face to avoid the mic rubbing against skin

BEFORE turning on any mic, coordinate with SD to ensure the mic is muted

If using HEADSET mic, turn pack on (check for green light)

If Pastor drinks water before going up, ensure that the HEADSET mic is still in the correct position

If using handheld, use switch on mic handle (check for orange light)

Walk emcee / speaker to stairs at base of stage with AMPLE time before they need to be on stage

If not on front row when cue is approaching, go and find them

Cue emcee / speaker to walk on stage when signaled by MD and/or SD

Bring needed items on stage as listed in OOS when main speaker goes up for message (i.e. table/podium, chair, Bible, notes, water bottle, message props, etc.

Remove any items you brought on stage during closing ministry time as cued by SD

Take notes on any problems you encounter or adjustments needed

POST SERVICE

In Between Services

Refill speaker basket as needed

Connect with Service Director and communicate any needed adjustments for the next service

Before You Leave

Connect with Service Director and communicate any needed adjustments

Replace comm headset

Replace speaker basket in media cabinet
